IBD Community
Fighting IBD Naturally
Interviewing the IBD Community
There is an amazing community of people living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis) each of which must decide, in partnership with their care team, how to best manage their unique circumstances. The goal with this community is to highlight the stories of people who are either advocating for or are implementing lifestyle changes in addition to the use of traditional medicine for IBD.
Make sure to read the interviews I’ve done with healthcare professionals specializing in IBD below - each of them are fantastic resources for those of us with IBD. I also have conducted interviews with several IBD advocates - each with amazing stories to share. There is so much we can learn from each other’s experiences!
IBD Professionals:
Danielle’s life experiences as a caregiver have given her unique insight into the power of diet and lifestyle changes for all things gut related. Now she is taking those lessons learned to help others struggling with IBD.
I’m really intrigued by Dane’s story, life, and methods for tackling the challenges of IBD. He has turned his weakest moment into a high energy movement putting those diagnosed with IBD at the center of their own care. And seeing great success at it.
I was instantly impressed by Dr. Caroline Methe! Her commitment to continuously learning and pushing for a root cause with her patients is the kind of support we all need from those on our care team!
For anyone asking the question… yes, you can fight Crohn’s with a vegan diet! Prescribed diets for IBD come in all shapes and sizes - low carb, high carb, carnivore, herbivore - you’ve got to find what works for you but for anyone looking to go vegan Rachel is your gal.
After 25 years with Crohn’s disease, Dr. Willis is helping others manage their disease through supplements, nutrition, and mindset…
It isn’t very often that you find someone who can speak from both personal experience AND from years of professional training but that amazing mix of qualities is exactly what you’ll find in Brittany…
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Dani for a few years. The first thing I noticed about Dani was her zeal for life! She has truly found the secrets behind living “Wild and Well” and I can’t wait to get the inside scoop in her upcoming book!
IBD Advocates:
You are in for a treat today! Rachel’s story shows how she has woven mindfulness into every fabric of her life. We all know the impact that stress can have on IBD but what can we learn from Rachel to cope with our realities better?
Troy’s journey with Crohn’s involves all of the standard hurdles of IBD including: hospitalizations; surgery; biologics… but he also has a six-pack… (ha!) and a wealth of knowledge about IBD…
Nick’s story has some amazing highs and dramatic lows. Nick has turned his trials into victories and his struggles into some of his most valuable life lessons - you can tell he cares from the moment you meet him…
Joel has a vision to unify the IBD community and to build an integrative focused foundation called the “One Great Gut” to support research and development of integrative solutions for Crohn’s disease…
If you haven’t heard of Josh before it’s about time you had! Josh’s transformation with Crohn’s disease took him from 105 pounds to 165 and counting. It’s an amazing journey combining traditional healthcare and nutrition!
I had the opportunity to chat with inspirational leader Ari Meisel about his journey with Crohn’s disease. What can we learn from his experiences to reduce stress in our lives?
